“RETINA education development foundation” is a charity organization to serve the mankind. Besides its great contribution in education sector, it plays a significant role in other social welfare activities. It is certified from the people’s republic of Bangladesh government with a registration s-5827(73)/06.The advisory board constitutes renowned doctors & humanitarian persons the country.
RETINA perform in social activities in two different road maps:
1. RETINA blood bank (RBB)
2. CSR department of RETINA
RETINA Blood Bank is run under it’s own certificate from the “Health Department” (registration # 28) of people’s republic of Bangladesh.
1. Five basic screening test ( HIV, Hepatitis-B, Hepatitis-C, Syphilis, malarial) determined by WHO are done for blood donation.
2. FDV certified high quality bags are used for blood preservation.
3. inspected by a group of skilled & specialized doctors.
4. Faultless cross-matching with latest instruments.
5. Screening & others tests at lowest possible cost.
6. Special facilities for poor patients.
7. Family & relatives of donor get special discounts.
8. After donating blood for 10 times the donors are being awarded with honorary memorandum & certificate.
9. Arranging free blood grouping.
Every year 2.5 lacs unit blood is needed for patients in our country. Here 51% comes from professional donors who are victim of HIV, Syphilis & other contagious diseases. Thus people become affected after this kind of blood transfusion. Statically if 2% people of our country donate blood regularly, its enough to meet the need of blood in our country. So, assurance of safe blood is important to save a life.
1. blood cells of the body are replaced by newer cells at a regular interval. So, donating blood after every 4 months is fully safe.
2. blood donation decreases risks for heart diseases.
3. it decreases free radicals.
4. Above all, your blood can save a patient’s life.
So RETINA Blood Bank is working for the society in a holy motto to save the lives who are in need of blood. 1. Relief distribution among natural calamities victims: Every year different natural calamities hits our country. Retina foundation distributed lots of food, pure water, free medicine, water purifying tablet to the victims in previous years and continued their march in humanity services.
2. Warm cloths distribution among poor people: In every winter, Retina education development foundation distributes warm cloths among the shelter less poor people of the country.
